National Day of Prayer - May 1, 2008

"As a sign of unity, we are asking people to pray the Prayer for the Nation at noon on May 1, wherever they are. Some will be at a public prayer observance at that time, while others will be sitting in front of their desks at work. Regardless of his or her location, it is important that His people, who are called by His name, seek Him in unity. If people participate in this form of corporate prayer, it will be like a wave of prayer flowing across our country. "

We are suggesting that those involved with nursing home ministry make arrangements to participate in The National Day of Prayer at the facility where they make they regular visits but at the time indicated. It will be a blessing to the residents, staff, and visitors. You can make copies of this prayer to hand out in Microsoft Word Format by clicking here.

2008 Prayer for Our Nation

Dr. Ravi Zacharias: 2008 Honorary Chairman, National Day of Prayer Task Force

Holy Father, in a world where so many are hungry, You have given us food in abundance;

In a world where so many are hurting, You offer to bind up our wounds;

In a world where so many are lonely, You offer friendship to every heart;

In a world longing for peace, You offer hope.

Yet, we are so stubborn and resistant. Have mercy upon us, Lord.

Our nation is at a crossroads this year; we look to you to be our strength and shield.

Please give us the guidance to elect one who will honor you and to respond to the wisdom from above so that our hope may be renewed and our blessings be treasured.

In God's holy name.
