A Prayer for the Vulnerable and Those Who Care for Them:

Our gracious Father, today we seek you on behalf of the millions of people who live in care facilities in our country. The elderly, the mentally retarded, those who have suffered severe injuries, those ravaged by diseases like MS and cerebal palsey, all of them vulnerable and with little or no voice in the kind of treatment they receive. Given the opportunity all of them would gladly accept your healing touch and leave these places.

Father, I pray that you would protect them, that you would make yourself known to them, and that they would feel your presence. Would you whisper in their ears your love and devotion to them who are helpless. Remind them that you are the Father of true mercy.

Send believers who know your mercy, to minister to them. Lord we believe that even if we can't communicate with them, You can and you do. Father, give us your heart and your eyes that we may see them the way you see them. Lord, we make ourselves available to serve them as you direct.

Father, we ask that you would expose the lie and the liar, and through our prayers and fasting, the spirit of death that has invaded our nation, would leave.

We pray for the believers who work in these places. Grant them favor to gain the positions of leadership within the organization from where they may make stands for righteousness. Manifest your strength and endurance in them to bear the burden of caring for these people. May they be as wells continually pouring out Your life-giving water. May the Light which you have put in them draw their unbelieving co-workers into a saving faith in You. Instill Your love for the helpless in their hearts.

Jesus, you wept and we weep too. We pray all this in Your holy name, Amen.

A Caregiver's Morning Prayer

YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET AND A LIGHT FOR MY PATH. PSALM 119:105

O God, this morning I have come into the quietness and stillness of your presence to begin this day so that out of this moment, I may take with me a quiet Serenity which will last me through the rough and tumble of this day's life.

I have come to find WISDOM so that today I may not make any foolish mistakes. I have come to find PEACE so that nothing may worry or upset me all through the day. I have come to find LOVE that all through the day nothing may make me bitter or unforgiving or unkind.

I have come to begin the day with YOU, to continue it with you and to end it with YOU, so that it will be a day which will have in it nothing to regret. Hear this morning prayer for Jesus' sake. AMEN

Lord, help me remember that every morning is a new beginning, and nothing can happen to me today that YOU and I, standing together in the strength YOU impart, can handle it and make of this day a lovely work of art.

A Prayer For Those Involved In Nursing Home Ministry:

Father, thank You for calling me to minister to Your children in nursing homes. I purpose to keep on going by Your power, for You first saved me and then called me to this holy work. I had nothing to do with it. If was Your idea, a gift prepared for me in Jesus long before I knew anything about it.

But I know it now. Since the appearance of our Savior, nothing could be plainer; death defeated, life vindicated in a steady blaze of light, all through the work of Jesus. I couldn't be more sure of my ground - the One I've trusted in can take care of what He's trusted me to do right to the end.

Thank you for Your Word - the entrance of Your Word brings light, and Your light is the life of men. The words that I speak are spirit and life, and I pray that the light of the Gospel will illumine the minds of those to whom I minister.

Father, Your anointing abides within me permanently - thank You for an unction from the Holy One. You have touched my hands with Your anointing, and when I lay hands on the sick, they shall experience the healing that flows from Your throne, and recover.

Thank you Lord, for those who welcome me, reaching out for prayer, encouragement, and hugs. I pray that the light in my eyes will bring joy to their hearts. Help me to exhort and teach them to continue in their desire to be useful, fulfilling Your call on their lives.

Father, You have a purpose for them - it is not Your will that they be set aside. You want them to continue bringing forth fruit in their old age. Help me to bring understanding to them.

Oh, Father, I pray for those who are in fetal positions, not speaking or opening their eyes. Arise, O Son of righteousness, with healing in Your wings and minister to these souls who will soon meet You face to face. I yield my body to You to be used as an instrument of righteousness, bringing salvation, wholeness, healing, deliverance and comfort to the sick and the elderly.

Father, You execute justice for the fatherless and the widow, and You are a Judge and Portector (Champion) of the widow. You protect, preserve, and uphold the fatherless and widow and You set them upright. I am claiming these promises for all those I minister to, believing You to watch over Your Word to perform it.

Lord, Your arm is not shortened that You cannot save, and nothing is too hard for You. I ask You for the wisdom and common sense I need to be a vessel of honor, sanctified, and fitting for Your use and prepared for every good work.

I do not go in my own strength, but in the divine energy which You provide. It is my purpose to always to obedient to James 1:27, External religious worship... that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need...and to reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight.

Thank you, Lord, that I eat the good of the land because I am willing and obedient. I serve You with a glad heart and a joyous spirit. Whatever You call me to do, You equip me with all that I need to accomplish it.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayer for Health and Healing

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You asking You to heal me. It is written that the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if I have committed sins, I will be forgiven. I let go of all unforgiveness, resentment, anger and bad feelings toward anyone.

My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I desire to be in good health. I seek truth that will make me free – both spiritual and natural (good eating habits, medications if necessary, and appropriate rest and exercise). You bought me at a price, and I desire to glorify you in my spirit and my body – they both belong to you.

Thank you, Father, for sending Your Word to heal me and deliver me from all my destructions. Jesus, You are the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. You bore my griefs (pains) and carried my sorrows (sickness). You were pierced through for my transgressions, crushed for my iniquities, the chastening for my well-being fell upon You, and by your scourging I am healed.

Father, I give attention to Your words, and incline my ear to your sayings. I will not let them depart from my sight, but keep them in the midst of my heart. For they are my life and health to my whole body.

Since the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to my mortal body through His Spirit who dwells in me.

Thank You that I will prosper and be in health even as my soul prospers. Amen.
