A Tribute to the Sept. 11 Tragedy

God Bless America

SPECIAL NOTICE:

The remembrance of events from September 11 continues to have a tremendous impact on all our lives, but especially on the lives of the confined elderly. For some of them the TV is their best friend, and this week's recalling of the sights and sounds could be horrifying.

These residents experience hopelessness and depression on a regular basis and need some "Faithful Friends" to visit with them and share the Comfort, Hope, and Peace that is found in Jesus Christ and in God's Word.

Here are some Resources that might help you in your weekly visits:

  1. Here is the program we used this year.
  2. Tap into the prayer resources of our special residents by reading the Prayer for our Nation from the 2015 National Day of Prayer.
  3. Try reading a devotional from Guideposts called “September 11: Don’t Just Remember, Pray”
  4. Visit the Tragedy Pages at Peggies Place.
  5. Check out Annie's Links to "Sites of Christian Comfort & Tribute"
  6. Visit our Comfort & Peace From God's Word Devotion Page or you may download it as a Microsoft Word File and use as a handout.
  7. Some helpful prayers and devotionals from Max Lucado.
  8. Visit our Fourth of July Page.

Last year we received many emails with helpful materials, graphics, and Special Web Sites. We would like to share some of this material with you that we thought might be helpful.
